The needs of veterans and military families are evolving, not disappearing. With nearly 70 years of expertise and experience, award winning Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut is committed to working with veterans and their families to secure employment. It is through meaningful employment that veterans can achieve self sufficiency and independence.
We employ a holistic approach to addressing the needs of veterans and their families. Easterseals uses innovative strategies and its expertise coupled with a supportive 1:1 customized model tailored specifically to the individuals’ needs. Additionally, there is an on-site professional clothing resource room and food pantry when needed.

In addition to having an on-site CT Veteran Service Officer, Easterseals will provide guidance and access to the Rally Point digital living lab to facilitate veterans effectively accessing their military benefits.

Working collaboratively with our extensive network of Community Partners, we facilitate access to the services our American Warriors need. We provide care coordination and support to access services and resources outside Easterseals when needed. Walking with our American Warriors on their journey every step of the way.
Utilizing Easterseals’ Digital Living Center, we provide customized support and training that results in veterans conducting electronic job searches and completing individualized on-line employment applications.
Individuals work to improve the skills necessary to successfully market their strengths during the interview process. Components include job search techniques, job application assistance, development of a resume and cover letter, conflict resolution, and ADA regulations.
With a exceptional 63% placement rate, our Placement Specialists assist veterans and their families with procuring appropriate employment. Post-employment support is provided to help maintain employment and employer satisfaction.
Job coaching is provided at the employment site for individuals needing one-on-one support to assist them in learning job skills.
Individuals are offered the training needed to meet the requirements of various employment opportunities. Components include tools of the workplace, computer basics and applications, office etiquette and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Individuals are provided assistance in selecting, obtaining and maintaining community employment. It is our goal to provide Individuals with serious or persistent mental illness/substance abuse issues with the necessary employment support.
Individuals may become integral members of Easterseals’ Social Enterprises. This includes document and data destruction by EnviroShred, Janitorial Services, Gives Back Jewelry Program assembly and subcontracted work from area businesses. All work is performed at Easterseals’ Vocational facilities.
These services are available for those who qualify and cover a variety of needs.
At Easterseals, we understand there are circumstances in life that result in service members needing a “hand up” to get back on track and continue their journey. A personal finance management session is required.
Easterseals provides an on-site professional clothing resource room that is available to veterans as they prepare to re-enter the workforce, as well as, a non-perishable food pantry for those veterans in need.
